About Stephen McHenry
Mr. McHenry brings over 25 years of real-world experience to the
classroom, plus prior teaching experience at the university level.
He has been involved in the development of object-oriented systems
since 1985, and used most major OO languages including C++, Objective
C, Smalltalk, TOOL (Forté) and Java. Since 1991 he has been
teaching the principles of building object systems to students worldwide.
In 1993, he began building distributed object systems, and in 1994,
his Object-Oriented Analysis and Design course was selected by Forté
Software to be the basis for an OOA&D course designed to teach
distributed object principles to their customers. Forté also
requested that Mr. McHenry adapt the course to cover additional
concepts unique to Forté. Subsequently, Mr. McHenry also
taught the Forté version of the course for over four years,
both in Forté training centers and at customer sites worldwide.
However, what makes his instruction unique is the fact that Mr.
McHenry spends most of his time (over 75%) actually developing distributed
object systems using the technologies covered in the courses he
teaches. He has experience in areas as diverse as digital commerce
(e-commerce), telecommunications, retailing, insurance, health care,
human resources, air traffic control, CAD/CAM/CAE and graphics/imaging.
Isn't it about time you took a course from someone who does,
instead of just teaches? Here are some things that his students
have said about his teaching.
